Ikarov 100% Pure Rosehip Oil

After the successful 'relationship' I had with the Ordinary Rosehip Oil that I bought earlier this year, I decided to try more from another brand that I have been using for years, Ikarov. The face oils from Ikarov were the first oils I tried on my skin and they worked perfectly for me. So I had to go back and try more.

A little history on how the rosehip oil is produced. It can be obtained from the seeds of all kinds of rose hip but it is said that the most valuable ones are from Chile. For those who don't know what rose hip is, it is ''the accessory fruit of the rose plant'', the small, reddish seed balls left on tips of the stems.  For reference, it is the plant that it's on the packaging of this product, see pic below.

In Chile, the plant grows at a higher altitude than usual, under extreme conditions - strong sun and high temperatures during the day, low temperatures and high humidity at night.  Because of this, the Rose hip oil from Andes has a unique composition.

''It contains high concentrations of provitamin A (beta-carotene) and tretinoin (or transretinolic acid) that the body converts to retinol (Vitamin A) when it is necessary.

Its essential fatty acids - linoleic (Omega 6) and linolenic (Omega 3) are of great importance for their anti-inflammatory properties. Together with tretinoin they have a beneficial effect on the regenerative processes in the inner layer of the skin/derm/and the recovery of collagen and elastin''.

Rose hip oil nourishes the skin with vital highly effective biologically active ingredients. It is designed for skin that shows signs of aging, loss of elasticity and firmness.

Well absorbed into the skin, this oil restores moisture and creates a protective barrier. It is a natural moisturizer for dry, sensitive, allergic, sun-damaged skin and is excellent for everyday care. I use it as the last step of my skincare routine or before I go to sleep, I massage in circular motions a couple of drops of oil until it is fully absorbed.

Rosehip oil softens the skin and makes it firmer and smoother. It evens out the skin tone and even old scars and stains get better. It can be applied directly to the skin and hair. It's great for damaged hair since it restores its shine, use it by warming up the oil in your hands and then apply it on the roots and massage it. After 30 minutes you wash it and you are left with healthy shiny hair.

Regular use of Rosehip oil helps maintain healthy, beautiful and fresh appearance of the skin and slows the effects of ageing.
